Experience 18th Century Fortress Life at Senftenberg Castle Festival This Weekend

Senftenberg Fortress in Brandenburg, Germany, hosts a grand castle festival this weekend. The event, open to visitors on Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm, offers a vivid recreation of the 18th-century fortress era. Expect military activities, historical craft demonstrations, and lively entertainment.

Saxon and Prussian troops bring history to life with loud cannon fire, marching soldiers, and mock fights using sword, rapier, and small sword. Military music sets the atmosphere. Women in historical clothing showcase the non-military aspects of the era.

The festival also features a bustling market with stalls, offering a glimpse into the past. Watch historical craft demonstrations, enjoy music, baroque dancing, and puppet theater. Organizers recommend hearing protection for children and those with sensitive ears.

Reaching the event is convenient with bus services available. Stops are located near the fortress at Senftenberg, Schlosspark, Altstadt, Tierpark, and Buchwalde, Dr.-Lehmann-Str.

The Senftenberg Fortress spectacle promises an immersive historical experience. Visitors can explore the fortress era, enjoy various performances, and shop at the market. The event is open to all, but please note that dogs are not allowed.
