Expected Offer for Tyler Dibling by Premier League Team; Cost Determined
Everton Pursue Deal for Southampton's Tyler Dibling Amidst Ongoing Negotiations
Southampton midfielder Tyler Dibling missed the club's final pre-season friendly against Brighton, with Everton reportedly in advanced talks to secure his signature.
Dibling, who has two years remaining on his contract at St. Mary's Stadium, has been attracting interest from the Toffees, with their initial offer of £27 million plus add-ons rejected by the Saints. Southampton value Dibling at more than £40 million, with a preference for £40 million upfront.
Everton's latest offer was around £35 million plus £8 million in add-ons, totalling £43 million, but this too was turned down by Southampton. The clubs remain engaged in negotiations, and Dibling has been given permission to speak with Everton, expressing enthusiasm for the move.
Southampton manager Will Still has stated that Dibling is "fine" and there is no certainty about his departure. The Saints' manager's comments suggest that the club is keen to keep Dibling for the 2025/26 season, complicating the negotiations further.
Dibling's absence from the match against Brighton was due to his involvement in a behind-closed-doors contest earlier in the day. Despite returning from a few niggles, Dibling played well in the 60-minute game, demonstrating his readiness for the new season.
Mateus Fernandes, another Southampton player, is also wanted by multiple clubs, including West Ham. Fernandes, who joined Southampton 12 months ago from Sporting Lisbon, was absent from the last three days due to illness, not injury.
Southampton finished bottom of the table on 12 points last season, and the club will be hoping for an improved performance in the upcoming Championship season. New manager Will Still will see his side begin the new campaign at home to newly-promoted Wrexham on August 9.
