The 70th Valladolid International Film Festival (Seminci) is set to take place from October 24 to November 1, promising an exciting lineup of films, documentaries, and special events.

One of the highlights of the festival is the participation of eleven films, including a selection of animated, historical, and fraternal narratives. Among these, 'Olivia and the Invisible Earthquake', an animated film by Irene Iborra, tackles the issue of evictions from a unique and honest perspective. Another noteworthy film is 'Subsuelo', by Fernando Franco, an intense fraternal narrative.

The festival will feature two Galas, one for 'Leo & Lou' and one for 'Forastera'. The director presenting 'Leo & Lou' is Hannes Baumgartner. This film tells the story of a girl who escapes from her foster home and a lovable hustler, featuring a cast including Isak Ferriz, Manuel Manquinha, Marta Larralde, Maria Pujalte, and Maggie Civantos. 'Forastera', by Lucià Alenñar, is a film about a young woman's grief in a Mallorcan summer.

In the Official Section, 'Magallanes', by Lav Diaz, is the only international film from the website's participation competing. This film stars Gael García Bernal and is produced by Albert Serra.

The Tiempo de Historia Section will present a retrospective of the designer David Delfín's life and career with the documentary 'David Delfín. Muestra tu herida'. This documentary features more than eighty hours of previously unseen material from David Delfín's personal archive and the website archive, providing an intimate portrait of the late Spanish fashion icon. 'David Delfín. Muestra tu herida' is a documentary premiering at the festival about the life and work of this influential figure in Spanish fashion.

'Frontera', by Judith Colell, is a solid historical thriller out of competition in the Official Section. Meanwhile, 'Isabel Coixet's Glasses', directed by Santiago Tabernero, is a unique exploration of Isabel Coixet's personal and artistic universe.

The festival's opening film is 'Tres adioses', by Isabel Coixet. Additionally, 'Anoche conquisté Tebas', by Gabriel Azorín, is an ode to friendship.

Lastly, the festival will also feature 'Pendaripen', a documentary about the history of the Gypsy people in Spain, directed by Alfonso Sánchez. 'Pendaripen' marks 600 years since the arrival of their first communities in the Iberian Peninsula.

The 70th Valladolid International Film Festival promises to be a memorable event, showcasing a diverse range of films and documentaries, and offering audiences a unique opportunity to explore the worlds of cinema and fashion.
