After the heartbreaking incident at Frankfurt's central train station, where a life was lost mere days ago, more information has come to light regarding the motive behind this horrific act. According to Mehmet Tanriverdi, the deputy leader of Germany's Kurdish community, both the suspect and victim hailed from the Turkey-Syria border region. Tanriverdi obtained this intel from various community sources.

A 54-year-old man from Baden-Württemberg's Ortenau district is under suspicion for his role in last Tuesday evening's fatal shooting of a 27-year-old on the train platform. This tragic event has left the Kurdish community in Germany mourning and unsettled, as shared by Tanriverdi.

The community believes that the victim had previously acted as the aggressor, having taken a young man's life on a strawberry farm in Antalya, Turkey, back in 2016. The victim then fled Germany, fearing repercussions for his actions. Unfortunately, as per the community, the young man did not exercise enough caution with his social media presence, making him an easy target for his enemies. Tanriverdi states that the victim's uncle is the suspected shooter in Frankfurt.

Tanriverdi emphasizes that this confrontation has come full circle within the family. Since Turkish authorities cannot intervene, the local community leader in Turkey now acts as the mediator and works towards reconciliation between the families. The German Kurdish community also wishes to contribute to resolving this conflict, as mentioned by Tanriverdi.

Blood feuds still persist in rural Kurdish areas, despite being regarded as relics of the past. They often stem from property or relationship issues. In regions with predominantly Kurdish populations, such as Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran, these blood feuds continue to be prevalent.

The incident at Frankfurt's railway station has led to a cycle of violence, as it appears to be a continuation of a past conflict from Antalya. The Turkish authorities are unable to intervene, leaving the resolution of this violent feud to the local community leader in Turkey and the Kurdish community in Germany.
