In honour of the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation from Japanese colonial rule, Seoul Metropolitan Government has planned an array of captivating installations and events.

One of the most anticipated displays is a bird's-eye view of Seoul Plaza, located in front of Seoul City Hall. This visualization offers a unique perspective of the decoration for the anniversary, showcasing the meticulous planning and design that has gone into the celebration.

The bird's-eye view of Seoul Plaza is not just a display; it is a visual representation of the decoration for the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation from Japanese colonial rule. The plaza will be adorned with various installations that tell the story of Korea's journey towards independence.

Among these installations, "Taegeukgi Hill" stands out. This installation consists of 300 spinning pinwheels, symbolizing the Korean national flag. Another installation, "Haebangjaho," is a replica of the first domestically manufactured train after Korea's liberation. The advanced KTX-Cheongryong, currently the most advanced train in operation, will also be represented.

The celebrations extend beyond Seoul Plaza. A weeklong "Liberation Week" of cultural celebrations, beginning around August 15, is planned. An evening festival on August 14 at Heungnyemun Square of Gyeongbokgung Palace, titled "We Are the Light," will feature cultural programs.

A festival along the Han River is scheduled on Liberation Day, showcasing various festivities and celebrations connected to Korea's independence. Additionally, a special exhibition using AI technology will present historical artifacts and videos about South Korea’s independence movement and activists.

The commemoration also includes official ceremonies and speeches, with President Lee Jae Myung marking the occasion. These events combine traditional commemorations with innovative displays and modern media, honoring the historic milestone comprehensively across public spaces and media platforms in Seoul.

In conclusion, Seoul's commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation is a testament to the city's commitment to preserving its history and celebrating its achievements. The various installations and events promise to offer a memorable and enlightening experience for all who attend.
