Competing for a prize pool of 18,500 euros, filmmakers from around the globe will vie for supremacy across three competitions. Many of the contenders are rumored to grace the festival week in Hamburg, making it a not-to-be-missed event for film enthusiasts.
This year, the festival saw over 5,000 submissions, with 84 films from nearly 50 nations making the cut for the competitions. The International Competition will present the latest aesthetics and innovative storytelling, while the German Competition will champion the exemplary short films and film school scene of the nation. Keep your eyes peeled for the "Triple Axel" competition, featuring films under three minutes, revolving around the theme "Mission Impossible" this year!
