In a fascinating twist of art and music, British pop and rock icon, Sir Elton John, has collaborated with the World Gold Council on a new documentary titled "Touched By Gold". The film delves into the use of gold in AIDS research and other aspects of John's life, including his Elton John AIDS Foundation.

The documentary sheds light on an intriguing piece of jewelry designed by jeweler Theo Fennell. The necklace chain was crafted from Elton John's own baked, painted, and polished kneecaps. John's left kneecap, in particular, bears a hole that resembles an old Egyptian artifact, adding to the jewelry's mystique.

The inscription on the jewelry, translated from Latin, reads "I will no longer bow to any man", a powerful statement reflecting John's unyielding spirit.

This unique jewelry was worn by John during his performance at Glastonbury, where he donned a gold lame suit on stage. John's career in music has been marked by such memorable moments, with his first gold disc awarded to him in 1970.

The documentary also explores John's involvement in the long-awaited sequel to the 1984 mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap, titled Spinal Tap II: The End Continues. John features in the film, adding another layer to his already diverse career.

John's commitment to fighting HIV and AIDS is evident through his Elton John AIDS Foundation. Established over two decades ago, the foundation has since raised over $650 million to expand health care access, fight HIV stigma, and help end AIDS.

John has not shied away from voicing his concerns regarding proposals that could potentially harm the creative industries. He has spoken out against proposals that would allow AI companies to train their systems on copyright-protected work without permission, stating that they would leave the door "wide open for an artist's life work to be stolen".

In addition to his work in music and philanthropy, John has recently joined forces with other UK artists such as Paul McCartney and Kate Bush to urge Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to protect the work of creatives amid an imminent UK-US technology deal during President Donald Trump's state visit.

John's musical journey continues, with his latest appearance being a collaboration with the band on a new version of their classic track 'Stonehenge', which appears on the soundtrack.

In a career spanning pop and rock, Elton John continues to push boundaries and make a difference, both on and off the stage. The documentary "Touched By Gold" offers a captivating insight into his life and work.
