The Dresden Music Festival is making headlines for its "Love" season, and it's not hard to see why! This year's exciting lineup has already accumulated a positive midterm report—22 out of 32 concerts have been a smashing success since May 17! Highlights include performances by Tokyo's NHK Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the electrifying Sasha Waltz dance company, to name a few. Actress Martina Gedeck and the classic “Dresden Sings & Musicians” have also drawn a massive crowd, as has the interactive project “Sound City.”

The party's far from over! By June 14, music enthusiasts can look forward to catching pop sensation Ronan Keating, Max Herre & Joy Denalane, actor Lars Eidinger, David Orlowsky and band, and the captivating violinist Janine Jansen and Camerata Salzburg. The festival will also boast a concert by Berlin Philharmonic Brass with cellist Jan Vogler, and an extraordinary fusion of hip-hop and classical music at "Revolta." The 2025 season will conclude with a historical performance of Richard Wagner's "Siegfried" featuring the festival orchestra and Concerto Koeln under the visionary direction of Kent Nagano.

In these tough times, where even prestigious festivals aren't immune to austerity measures, revenue plays a crucial role. Despite being hit hard by the loss of federal funding, organizers have managed to secure a budget of five million euros for the 48th edition, paving the way for another spectacular year of music and culture for the city of Dresden.
