Exciting news in the world of sports today
The "House of Sports," a new multi-purpose sports facility, is set to be constructed in the heart of Lübeck's sports park, nestled amongst the hockey facilities further south. This project, initially intended for multiple clubs such as the Turn- and Sportbund of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck, the Lübeck Judo Club, and the Tanzclub Hanseatic, will provide a home for both recreational and high-performance sports.
The construction of the "House of Sports" has presented challenges due to its proximity to the nearby nature reserve. To address these issues, the new tennis courts have been designed with careful consideration, addressing concerns related to the range of a tennis ball and the possible endangerment of ducks.
LBV Phoenix has made concessions to facilitate the construction of the new facility, exchanging three of its tennis courts for new ones. The club has also extended the leasehold rights for the plots where the tennis courts are located until 2065.
The surf school's caravan and the judo club are located near the new tennis courts, adding to the vibrant sports atmosphere. The two new tennis courts of LBV Phoenix 1903 e.V. at the Falkenwiese were recently inaugurated. The courts are situated at the edge of the sports park on the Bosch-Schiefer grounds.
As for the "House of Sports" itself, the groundbreaking is scheduled for November 29. The city has requested a property exchange due to a new construction regulation that only permits a building at a distance of fifty meters from the shore. A third new tennis court has been created on the site of a previously little-used beach tennis court.
For those interested in obtaining detailed construction plans and timelines, several avenues are available. The Municipal or City Planning Office of Lübeck often holds permits, detailed construction plans, and timelines for public or private building projects. Official project websites or press releases, architectural or construction firms, and local news sources are other potential sources of information.
The new tennis courts, included as part of the "House of Sports" project, will be located at the edge of the sports park on the Bosch-Schiefer grounds, next to the judo club and the surf school's caravan. Despite the challenges, LBV Phoenix has made concessions, exchanging three of its old tennis courts for new ones and extending the leasehold rights until 2065.
