Eintracht Frankfurt's Burkardt Shines in Champions League Debut

Jonathan Burkardt, the new signing from FSV Mainz 05, has made an impressive start at Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring a brace in their 5-1 victory over Galatasaray Istanbul in the Champions League.

The match, which marked Frankfurt's dream start to the tournament, was a breakthrough moment for Burkardt, according to coach Dino Toppmöller and team captain Robin Koch. Toppmöller believes that Burkardt's class was fully on display, while Koch shares the sentiment, expressing his belief in Burkardt's potential to score many more goals in the Champions League.

Burkardt's performance was not only significant for him but also for the team, as it was described as an incredible start for both him and the squad. His first competitive goals for Eintracht Frankfurt came in the form of a brace, with his second goal being the icing on the cake that sealed the win in the Champions League standings.

In addition to scoring, Burkardt also recorded an assist, making him only the second German player, after Ansgar Knauff, to achieve this feat on their Champions League debut. Knauff, who watched the match live, is confident that Burkardt will score many more goals for Eintracht Frankfurt in the future Champions League matches.

Burkardt himself was filled with joy and happiness after his impressive performance. He described his experience of scoring in the Champions League as 'crazy' and 'perfect'. Toppmöller believes that Burkardt's goals are extremely important to him due to his desire to make everything perfect in the Champions League.

Rudi Völler, the current DFB sports director, also acknowledged Burkardt's achievement, as he was the only other German player besides Burkardt to have scored a goal and provided an assist in the Champions League.

Koch, in expressing his admiration for Burkardt, stated that the young striker has an incredible nose for goals in the Champions League. Burkardt's teammates and coach share this sentiment, considering his breakthrough a significant moment in his career with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Following his impressive debut, Burkardt plans to enjoy the moment while looking forward to future challenges with Eintracht Frankfurt. His performance against Galatasaray Istanbul has certainly raised expectations for his future performances in the Champions League.
