A Family Saga: The Squabble Between Jack White's Ex and Current Wives
Ex-wives of Jack White engage in a dispute
Take a peek into the drama unfolding in the life of Jack White, the legendary music producer, as his ex-wife Marie-Louise Gassen and his current wife Rafaella Nussbaum engage in a heated spat. This fracas revolves around supposed contact limits and, as is often the case, finances.
Known for his hits like "Looking for Freedom," White is recuperating from a stroke in the hospital. However, his family life is far from serene. Marie-Louise Gassen, White's ex-spouse from 1980 to 1992, claims in an interview with Bild newspaper that Rafaella Nussbaum prevents White from communicating with his children. "Rafaella won't let anyone near Jack," she says. "Our daughter Antonia can't speak with him, nor can the other five children from his previous unions. Rafaella forbids it. It's a total mess!" She expresses her distress that her daughter Antonia, now 41, hasn't seen her father in years and is deeply concerned.
The 84-year-old White himself experienced a harrowing fall, then slipped into a coma and ended up in critical care. His recovery was underway when he also suffered a stroke. The housekeeping staff reportedly contacted the paramedics while White's wife was out of Berlin. Since then, White has been nursing his injuries in the clinic, apparently cut off from his family, according to Marie-Louise Gassen.
No contact with the rest of the family either?
White's offspring—Frank and Pia from his union with Else Starke, and Gloria and Ella from his marriage to Janine White—are reportedly ignored by their father as well. Bild newspaper alleges that a gag order was instituted in December 2024, affecting family members.
More than just a family tiff?
Gassen doesn't stop at the allegations of restricted contact. She also accuses Rafaella Nussbaum of lavishing White's fortune. "She spends his money like water, indulges in getaways and parties with friends. She spends 30,000 to 50,000 euros every month, always thirsty for his money!" Gassen fears that Nussbaum might now drain the musician's bank accounts, given that she wields power of attorney.
Nussbaum, who is 38, vehemently denies the charges and retorts, "Marie-Louise is a vindictive, malicious woman who always fabricates lies about me." She counters that Gassen harms their daughter Antonia and has financial troubles of her own.
The family's tumultuous tale is an intriguing blend of celebrity nuptials, health crises, and financial woes.
