Ex-TSC boss Macharia turns down Muranga county position offer

Revised Article:

Nancy Macharia, ex-TSC Secretary, ain't taking that county chair job, chief! The reason? A shiny, swanky gig with the World Bank as a consultant.

Governor Irungu Kangata's crew reached out to her about the Murang'a County Public Service Board chairperson position, but it was a hard no from Dr. Macharia. She spilled the tea just a day before her vetting process at the county assembly, alongside four other nominees.

Last week, the county assembly got wind of Kangata's nomination, to replace Catherine Wanjiku's vacancy, upon her term expiration.

Kangata shared the news about Macharia's rejection, citing her World Bank consulting stint as the reason they'd be missing out on her leadership skills as a mentor to fellow board members.

The other nominees included Dr. Louis Mwende Mwikali, Dr. Brian Makamu, Johnson Kang'ethe, and Oscar Kimani. Kimani was hailed to serve as the board's secretary.

Some locals arsed about Kangata messing with youth, ready to fill the post. They believed he was robbing the youth of an opportunity.
