Blackstock and Clarkson first met at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006. They reconnected in 2012 during Super Bowl XLVI, a time when Blackstock was managing country singer Blake Shelton. The two eventually married in 2013 and share two children together, River, aged 11, and Remington, aged 9.
