Originating from Unterfranken, Hahn ventured into the world of television through Ostdeutscher Rundfunk Brandenburg (ORB) in the 90s. His passion for sports, particularly FC Energie Cottbus, and his tight-knit friendship with boxer Axel Schulz from Frankfurt (Oder), set him apart from the rest.
A Remembrance of a Heartfelt Friendship and a Lasting Television Career
Hahn's friendship with boxer Axel Schulz and his sports-oriented background were instrumental in his popularity. His captivating personality and iconic greeting, "Hallo Brandenburg, hallo Welt," left an indelible mark on the RBB television community.
In 2018 and 2019, RBB aired special editions of "Der Sonne entgegen" with Hahn, paying tribute to the show's veteran presenter. However, after his departure from the broadcaster, he was no longer associated with the network.

After Hahn's unfortunate demise on May 5, 2025, the Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB) expressed its condolences by broadcasting selected episodes of "Der Sonne entgegen" on May 9 at 10 PM. The following day, a special "Der Sonne entgegen XXL - Dream Trips" episode from 2018 will be retelecast at 4:20 PM.
