Ex-Premier League striker Cameron Jerome joins amateur club Newsome at 39

Former Premier League striker Cameron Jerome has signed for amateur side Newsome. The 39-year-old, who retired from professional football last summer, will now play in the Yorkshire Amateur League. His arrival was officially confirmed by the club earlier this week.

Jerome brings vast experience to Newsome, having made over 700 senior appearances and scored more than 150 goals in his career. He featured 211 times in the Premier League, netting 32 goals for clubs like Birmingham City, Stoke City, and Norwich City.

Jerome’s arrival marks a significant addition for Newsome, who compete in the Yorkshire Amateur League. His two decades of professional experience will now be used to help an amateur side looking to climb off the bottom of the table. The club hopes his presence will make a difference on and off the pitch.
