A 29-year-old woman is currently in police custody in Agde, Hérault, France, following her confession to fatally stabbing her ex-partner. The incident, which occurred at around 3:00 local time on Monday morning, is being reported by Midi Libre.

According to the reports, the woman confessed to stabbing her ex-partner in the chest during a confrontation inside a building. Security cameras in the building showed a scene of mutual violence.

Two children, the woman's 5-year-old daughter and a niece, were present during the incident. The man, who has not been identified, was found with stab wounds to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman, who was on holiday in Agde and had recently separated from her ex-partner due to his alleged violence, explained that she acted in self-defense. The prosecutor's office will seek preventive detention for the woman.

It is important to note that there is no evidence or information indicating that the woman has been previously detained for a case of fatal stabbing in Porto, as some media outlets have reported. The woman has only been charged with spousal murder in Agde.

The man's identity and any potential motives for the attack are still unclear at this time. The investigation is ongoing, and more information is expected to be released in the coming days.

The incident in Agde, Hérault, France, involving the woman's fatal stabbing of her ex-partner, is also being covered as part of the general news, crime, and justice categories, given the violent nature of the event. Furthermore, the scene of mutual violence filmed by security cameras in the building raises concerns about the broader issue of war-and-conflicts and their impacts, not just on individuals involved but also on those witnessing such events, such as the two children present during the incident.
