Golden Tate Unleashed His Wild Side During Rookie Seasons

The charismatic former NFL player, Golden Tate, couldn't resist the party life during his initial years in the league.

Kicked off his career with the Seattle Seahawks in 2010 following the second round of the NFL Draft, Tate's debut wasn't anything to write home about.

Here are his rookie stats:

  • 11 games played
  • 227 receiving yards

  • Zero touchdowns
  • Four rushing yards
  • 202 punt return yards

Things weren't shaping up for Tate in the NFL, but off the field, he was living it up.

"I was going out every Friday night. Period. If I missed a Friday night, I felt like I was going to have a bad game...Partying so hard I'd show up to the next day's practice reeking of smoke and feeling a bit wobbly," Tate confessed in a tell-all interview on "Bussin' With The Boys."

Sunday nights after games weren't much different, either. And you can guess the consequences wouldn't be conducive to optimal gameplay.

Despite his early-career misadventures, Tate eventually sobered up and shifted his focus. He finished his NFL career with an impressive 8,278 receiving yards, 46 touchdowns, and 695 catches.
