Ex-colleague alleges Diddy of making threats and orchestrating a kidnapping incident.
In New York, a former colleague of Sean "Diddy" Combs has testified that the hip-hop mogul allegedly threatened her with death on her first day of work, subsequently kidnapping her at gunpoint to confront rapper Kid Cudi.
Capricorn Clark, the ex-global brand director of Bad Boy Entertainment, detailed the alarming incident during Combs' ongoing trial, which encompasses charges of sex trafficking. On the third week of testimony, she alleged that Combs, seeking to prove his dominance, relied on muscular security agents and others to ensure his demands were met.
Combs has pleaded not guilty to several charges, including accusations of systematic abuse towards his long-term girlfriend, Cassie.
Clark's testimony surfaced a few days after Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, stated that Clark had contacted him from a car outside his home in December 2011, reporting that an infuriated Combs, due to Cudi seeing Cassie, had abducted Clark and forced her to join him.
Referring to Combs as "Puff" during her testimony, Clark narrated the harrowing experience where Combs, armed, requested her to dress and accompany him, as they were set to "eliminate Cudi."
Upon arriving at Cudi's Los Angeles home in a black Cadillac, Combs and a security guard entered the residence, while Clark, in the car, contacted Cassie. Clark testified that she informed the singer that Combs had "taken her hostage with a firearm and was en route to Cudi's residence with the intention of ending his life."
Cudi, overhearing the call, inquired, "Is he at my house?" Clark claimed she responded, "Thwart him; he's heading towards danger." However, Cassie informed her she couldn't intervene.
Combs returned to the vehicle and asked who Clark was speaking to, she continued. He took the phone and called Cassie, she said.
As Cudi's vehicle approached, Clark testified that Combs and his bodyguard pursued Cudi, but the attempt was abandoned when they encountered police cars en route to Cudi's residence.
According to Clark, after the break-in, Combs declared that they needed to persuade Cudi that he was not responsible for the incident. "If you don't convince him, I'll annihilate you all," he allegedly said, emphasizing his threat with a profanity.
In a subsequent testimony, Kid Cudi asserted that he had a brief romance with Cassie in December 2011, believing she had ended her relationship with Combs. However, they mutually agreed to end their relationship during the holidays following the tumultuous events.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Mitzi Steiner questioned Clark regarding her intermittent employment with Combs between 2004 and 2018. Clark recalled that on her first day of work, Combs and a security guard escorted her to Central Park post midnight, explaining they were unware of her past collaborations with other rappers.
Clark, her voice quivering at times, testified that Combs threatened her life if any prior work for rival rappers became problematic. Furthermore, she claimed she was subjected to a lie detector test in an almost empty Manhattan building for five days, under the threat of being thrown into the East River if she failed.
Should Combs be found guilty, the 55-year-old could face a minimum of 15 years in prison.
Amidst the ongoing trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs for charges of sex trafficking, transport and entertainment sectors intertwined when Capricorn Clark, a former Bad Boy Entertainment executive, testified about Combs' alleged involvement in a kidnapping. During her account, she mentioned an incident involving rapper Kid Cudi and shared that Combs had used a vehicle, a black Cadillac, in his pursuit of Cudi.
In the realm of general news and crime-and-justice, Clark's testimony also touched upon Combs' threats towards other celebrities, as he allegedly threatened her with death to send a message to Kid Cudi. This narrative highlighted the turbulent dynamics within Combs' world of power and influence.
