Ex-bodyguard of McGregor under investigation for alleged corrupt practices.
Score a Jail Term
Get ready for a courtroom showdown involving former UFC fighter and Conor McGregor's ex-bodyguard, Charlie Ward. According to the Roscommon Herald and other media sources, Ward and his associate Noel Carroll face corruption charges. They're said to have bribed a cop for confidential data on a third party back on March 2, 2022.
But it turns out this wasn't their first rodeo. Ward is claimed to have pulled a similar stunt on February 28, and Carroll on January 26. On top of that, Ward's also been charged with "orchestrating a criminal act."
While Ward made a bigger splash for his friendship with McGregor than his UFC and Bellator fights, his last bout was in September 2023, ending in a submission loss in the first round. As the trial unfolds, the court will decide if the allegations against Ward and Carroll are true.
