On Saturday, the Chemnitzer FC football team announced the signing of 19-year-old central defender Julius Bochmann, a promising young talent hailing from Chemnitz's youth ranks. Bochmann joins the club after a stint in the Austrian second league, where he played for SV Kapfenberg last season.

Chemnitzer FC, a team in the regional football league, has added Julius Bochmann as their fifth new player for the upcoming season. The club made the announcement on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.

In his youth, Bochmann played for Chemnitz's football academy, progressing through the U7 to U17 levels. After spending time with the youth teams at Greuther Fürth and SC Verl, the up-and-coming star made the move to Austria.

Sporting Director Chris Löwe expressed delight in securing such a young and experienced defender for their team. Löwe stated that they trust Bochmann to play an important role from the start and will partner him with Robert Zickert to form the new defensive center.

"It feels like coming home," Bochmann said, excited to return to his roots, where he had served as a ball boy for the "First" team in his younger days. Bochmann has committed to a contract lasting until 2027 with the "Himmelblauen."

The addition of Bochmann joins four other new signings for the Chemnitzer FC, including Johannes Pistol (ZFC Meuselwitz), Tobias Stockinger (BFC Dynamo), Maurizio Grimaldi (USI Lupo-Martini), and Jonas Marx (FC Eilenburg).
