Going Beyond Words: Pakistan's Urge for Global Action Against Terror

The Pakistan delegation has boldly demonstrated their evidence of external funding for the deadly attack on the Jaffer Express passenger train, a heinous deed that claimed at least 30 lives and left many more hostages in the remote landscapes of Balochistan. This grim incident, orchestrated by the Baloch Liberation Army, transpired as a deliberate and externally supported act of terror, a warning cry echoing across the globe.

In the echo chamber of the United Nations' Victims of Terrorism Association Network, Counsellor Jawad Ajmal of Pakistan's Permanent Mission to the UN, unveiled the chilling truth, urging the international community to heed the call and recognize the sinister shadow cast by state-sponsored terrorism.

"The Jaffer Express attack - an attack fueled by foreign money - is a stark reminder that terrorism knows no borders, and we must work together to halt its devastating progression. This is not an isolated incident; it is a symptom of a far deeper malaise that threatens the very fabric of peace worldwide," Ajmal passionately conveyed to the assembly.

In the face of such brutality, Ajmal showcased the indomitable spirit of the survivors and their families, imploring the international community to intensify its efforts to aid them and prevent such tragedies. He demanded a unified, non-discriminatory response to terrorism, emphasizing the need for equitable and impartial action against the perpetrators and their sponsors.

"We cannot afford to be swayed by political biases; the victims of terrorism demand accountability, and it is our moral and legal responsibility to answer this call," Ajmal asserted.

*Redefining Terror: Call for a Universal Definition*

Ajmal also championed a universally accepted definition of terrorism, one that reflects the evolving nature of the threat, including the spread of extremist content on digital platforms and the dark web. He underscored the urgency of countering disinformation campaigns designed to incite xenophobia, hatred, and violence, particularly targeting Muslim communities.

Referencing the tragic Pahalgam incident in the Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir, where 26 innocent souls were slain, Ajmal extended sincere condolences to the grieving families and wished a swift recovery for the injured. He emphasized Pakistan's stance in condemning the attack at the UN Security Council, advocating for a neutral, transparent investigation into the atrocity.

Resilient in the face of adversity, Pakistan continues to honor the lives lost in the country's long and arduous battle against terrorism. Over the past two decades, more than 80,000 lives have been sacrificed in the pursuit of peace and security.

"Our resilience, our determination, and our commitment to a terror-free world remain unwavering. We stand together with the families of the fallen heroes - our law enforcement and armed forces - whose sacrifices have kept our nation safe," Ajmal concluded, pay tribute to the countless lives lost in the fight against terrorism.
