Jack Grealish, the England international midfielder, has moved to Everton on a season-long loan deal, marking a fresh start for the 29-year-old after falling out of favour at Manchester City.

Grealish's departure from City follows a series of omissions from key squads, including the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace and the FIFA Club World Cup, signalling the end of his role at the club. Despite Manchester City's preference for a permanent transfer, they accepted Everton's loan offer to give Grealish an opportunity to rediscover the form that justified his record £100 million transfer from Aston Villa in 2021.

Everton have been active in the transfer market this summer, with Grealish joining Thierno Barry, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Carlos Alcaraz, Adam Aznou, and Mark Travers as arrivals at Goodison Park. The Toffees' manager, David Moyes, expressed his enthusiasm about working with Grealish, viewing him as a key creative force who will add attacking flair and star quality to the team.

Grealish, who expressed his excitement about joining Everton, had a productive campaign in 2022-23, registering five goals and 11 assists as City won the treble. His most productive season to date saw him start 17 times in the Premier League over the last two seasons, playing 715 minutes in the top flight in 2024-25.

Moyes believes Grealish's ambition is to get back into the England squad, and he hopes Everton can help him achieve that. The move to Everton presents another opportunity for Grealish to restart his career, with his first outing for the Toffees potentially against Leeds United on August 18.

With Grealish's signing, Everton's attacking options for the 2025-26 season have been significantly bolstered. The midfielder's arrival is seen as a pivotal moment for Grealish to rejuvenate his career and push for a place in the England squad for the next World Cup.
