ARD's Summer Interviews Kick Off: Here's the Lineup

Fixed broadcast schedules - Events scheduled have been confirmed

Get ready for some firecracker political debates as ARD, Germany's public broadcasting corporation, gears up for its annual summer interviews! Broadcast every Sunday at 6:00 PM, starting July 13, on the popular "Report from Berlin" slot on the First channel.

This year, the series sets off a little later than usual, with the interviews starting on July 13, compared to June 23 last year and July 2 in 2024.

First up is Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) on July 13, who will be grilled by Markus Preiß (47). The following week, on July 20, we've got Alice Weidel (46), leader of the Alternative for Germany (AfD), in the hot seat with Markus Preiß moderating.

The Green Party's representative, Felix Banaszak (35), will answer questions from Matthias Deiß (47) on August 3. But wait, there's a twist! The SPD, still undecided on their chairperson following their end-of-June party conference, hasn't yet chosen who will represent them.

Stay tuned for more on August 10, as we finally discover who'll be cutting the mustard for the SPD! On the same day, The Left will be represented by Jan van Aken, who will have a chat with Anna Engelke (56). Van Aken, 64, leaders The Left alongside Ines Schwerdtner (35).

The series wraps up on August 24 with CSU chair Markus Söder (58) and Anna Engelke.
