The schools within the Stiftungsgemeinschaft der Evangelisch-Lutherischen Kirche in Norddeutschland (Church School Foundation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany) recently came together for a unique sports day. Hedi Mahnke from the Warener Arche Schule and a corresponding leader at the Neustrelitz Evangelische Primarschule (Neustrelitz Evangelical Primary School) spearheaded the collaboration.

The main focus of the sports day was on movement, team spirit, and exchanging with each other. Fun and playfulness were the guiding principles, ensuring a joyful atmosphere throughout the day. The event was held at the Warener Arche School and Neustrelitz Evangelische Primarschule, with the sports field of the Richard-Wossidlo-Gymnasium on the shore of the Tiefwarensee serving as the picturesque backdrop.

Oversized inflated sports equipment and an oversized table football game, with the children themselves as figures connected by ropes, added to the excitement. Loud cheering was heard during the sports day at various stations, reflecting the children's enthusiasm.

The goal of the sports day was to promote fairness and respect, aligning with the theme. The classes were intentionally mixed to strengthen a sense of community, and the older children helped the younger ones, fostering a spirit of camaraderie.

Competition and performance control were not prioritized during the sports day. Instead, the focus was on collecting fairness points, with the students doubling their target of 3,000 points. The children expressed their delight, with comments like 'Absolutely cool' and 'We could definitely do this more often'.

The sports day also served as the kick-off for the Neustrelitz school's annual theme 'Peace Begins with Us'. It provided an opportunity for the schools to dedicate a whole day to sports on their own grounds, deepening their cooperation within the foundation network.

As the leaders aim to deepen collaboration within the Stiftungsgemeinschaft der Evangelisch-Lutherischen Kirche in Norddeutschland, this sports day was a resounding success, bringing joy, camaraderie, and a focus on fairness and respect to the forefront.
