Warning Bells Ring in Novorossiysk's Waters!
Evening and morning shooting drills set for May 5 in Novorossiysk
Mark your calendars, sailors and sea-lovers! On May 5, the waters of the Novorossiysk port will be bustling with a touch of military magic - and a whole lot of action! By day and by night, from 11:00 to 13:00, and again from 21:00 to 23:00, this bustling port city will transform into a battleground, ready to repel attacks from the latest threats on the high seas - unmanned boats and UAVs.
The Military Harbor will echo with the sounds of artillery firing from the breakwaters. But keep your boats tied up and dry, oh ye hearty mariners! All small boats, no matter if they're state-registered or not, are banned from navigating during the exercises. That means no pleasure craft, sailing boats, inflatable watercraft, or watercraft used for water sports will be allowed to venture out. Jet skis, windsurfing boards, stand-up paddleboards, and other similar vessels will need to find another wave to ride.
And sorry, scuba divers and snorkelers, you're out of luck too! Underwater work and diving activities (including from shore) are off-limits during the exercises.
Now, what exactly happened with those drone attacks that wreaked havoc in Novorossiysk on May 3? Well, that's a completely different story! Nine-five apartments took a beating, with 22 in the Eastern district, 31 in the Central district, and 42 in a high-rise in the Southern district facing the brunt of the assault. Windows were shattered, facades damaged, and some property within one of the apartments partially destroyed. Five people were injured, including two children, and one woman was reported to be in serious condition.
But amidst the chaos, there's still time for some interesting news! The city of Novorossiysk recently announced plans for a Novorossiysk-Lagos (Nigeria) trade corridor, set to enhance Russia’s logistical reach in West Africa.
