Chatting with My Buddy

Ever since Eurovision debuted in 1956, it's been a non-stop musical extravaganza, excluding the bummer year of 2020 when the pandemic forced us to stay home. Now, we're all geared up for the next round!

Over the years, a whopping 66 editions have crowned winners from 27 different countries. Portugal claimed the trophy most recently with Salvador Sobral and his enchanting ballad, "Amar Pelos Dois." The last time we saw Ukraine hoist the crystal microphone was at Turin 2022 with Kalush Orchestra's electrifying performance of "Stefania."

Historically, Ireland leads the pack with a remarkable seven triumphs to its name. The last Irish victory occurred in Oslo 1996, courtesy of Eimear Quinn's hauntingly beautiful rendition of "The Voice." This year, Ireland is gunning for its eighth win with the band Wild Youth and their infectious single, "We Are One." As if that weren't enough, 2023 saw yet another Irish victory, as Loreen's "Tattoo" tied them with Sweden as the countries with the most wins – both have netted six victories each.
