Eurosport Meeting with Participant Araimo

Alessandro Araimo, the current CEO of Warner Bros Discovery Italy & Iberia, is set to take on a more significant role within the company following its reorganisation. The reorganisation, scheduled to be completed by mid-2026, will see the separation of TV activities from streaming and cinema within WBD, resulting in the formation of two separate companies.

Araimo's new role will see him overseeing the Southern Europe region within Discovery Global, which includes Italy, Spain, Portugal, and France. This regional leadership will be complemented by a significant role in the sports division of Warner Bros Discovery, as he takes charge of the entire European network of the sports channel Eurosport.

Araimo has been a part of the Discovery group since 2014, holding various leadership roles, including managing director for Discovery in Italy and Iberia. Prior to joining Discovery, he held managerial roles at Fininvest, Sole 24 Ore, and Condé Nast. He has also gained experience as a media consultancy partner.

The reorganisation places Araimo in a significant role within Discovery Global and Eurosport. Eurosport, a sports channel that is part of Warner Bros Discovery, will also be overseen by Araimo within Warner Bros Discovery. This role will encompass the entire European network of the sports channel.

In summary, after the Warner Bros Discovery split, Araimo will be appointed:

  • Head of Southern Europe for Discovery Global (Italy, Spain, Portugal, France)
  • Head of Eurosport across Europe

This elevated position will see Araimo overseeing both regional operations and major sports broadcasting within the Discovery Global structure.

This new position allows Araimo to oversee both regional operations and major sports broadcasting within the Discovery Global structure.
