Europe's basketball crown goes to Germany

In a heart-pounding final match, the German basketball team triumphed over Turkey, clinching their second EuroBasket title in a hard-fought game witnessed by 11,000 spectators, including the German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

The interim national coach, Alan Ibrahimagic, led the team during the final. Ibrahimagic stepped in unexpectedly for head coach Alex Mumbru, who was hospitalized during the tournament in Tampere, Finland. Ibrahimagic, who has been with the German Basketball Federation since 2013, guided the team to an impressive victory.

The final score of the game was 88:83 (40:46), with Germany managing to turn their slow start into a thrilling victory. Franz Wagner led the German team, while Isaac Bonga was particularly impressive, leading the team with 20 points.

Despite Turkey's valiant efforts, the German team maintained their composure, demonstrating their skill and resilience throughout the game. This victory in Riga, Latvia, comes two years after Germany's triumph in Manila, further etching their name into the sport's history books.

Remarkably, Germany remained undefeated throughout the tournament, winning all nine of their games. The team's crucial contributions in the closing stages of the final match, particularly from Dennis Schröder, were pivotal in securing the victory.

This second EuroBasket title for Germany is a testament to their dedication, teamwork, and the coaching skills of interim coach Alan Ibrahimagic. As the team celebrates this well-deserved victory, they look forward to continuing their success in the future.
