Union Berlin are set to conclude their training camp with a friendly match against 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 on July 29, 2025, at 13:30 UTC. The match will take place at the Adi-Dassler-Stadion in Herzogenaurach.

The friendly against Schweinfurt will be Union Berlin's fifth friendly match overall, following a defeat to SpVgg Greuther Furth, where Branimir Hrgota scored the winning goal in the 54th minute. The exact location of Union Berlin's first friendly match during their training camp remains undisclosed.

Union Berlin coach Steffen Baumgart admitted that his team conceded a "Goal of the Month" in their previous friendly match against Schweinfurt, but he believes the result wouldn't have been different if Union Berlin had won 1:0.

Several injured, sick, or recovering players, including Livan Burcu, Stanley Nsoki, Oliver Burke, David Preu, Oluwaseun Ogbemudia, Aljoscha Kemlein, and Woo-Yeong Jeong, did not participate in the matches due to their conditions and watched from the stands.

Baumgart stated that the match was a normal friendly, and he believes that the third week of preparation is often when teams hit a first low. Around 300 Union fans were in attendance for the matches. The defeat occurred in front of 6,322 spectators at the Furth Ronhof.

Union Berlin's next official match after these friendlies will be the DFB Pokal match against Gutersloh 2000 on August 16, 2025. The opponents for the second friendly match, 1. FC Schweinfurt 05, are third division newcomers.

The second friendly match will kick off at 15:30, and it will be the final friendly during Union Berlin's training camp, which ends next Friday. Specific details for individual players in this friendly are not provided in the available sources.

The second friendly match against 1. FC Schweinfurt 05, set for July 29, will be Union Berlin's second encounter with the third division newcomers during their training camp. This friendly, following the conclusion of European leagues' summer break, will be a chance for Union Berlin to gear up for their upcoming DFB Pokal match against Gutersloh 2000 on August 16.
