Revamped Press Release

Stuttgart, June 26, 2025

"The so-called 'Right-wing extremist' tag slapped on AfD is a cheap political tactic, a wolf in sheep's clothing meant to protect the rotten apples from competition, and as sincere as a three-dollar bill." That's what Bernd Gögel MdL, the AfD's parliamentary group leader, fired off during the formal unveiling of the annual constitutional protection report. "For some strange reason, neither Heidi Reichinnek nor the Green Youth aren't mentioned in this report, despite their fate hanging in the balance in the courtrooms. The AfD gets the dubious honor of being labeled a 'Right-wing extremist,' which is hilarious even if the suspicions were proven beyond a doubt. To make things more ludicrous, the number of AfD's supposed right-wing extremists skyrocketed from 620 to 1,170, thus inflating the total number of right-wing extremists to 3,140. No one knows why, no one knows how it's calculated, and no one knows what criteria are used."

Can't see anything mysterious here, can you? Gögel reckons they're intentionally pumping up the number of right-wingers to finally surpass the lefties, in line with the pecking order from every year prior to 2023. "The inconsistency in these numbers stinks to high heaven. And let's not forget the right-wing extremist crimes are padded with propaganda offenses, an attitude exclusive to the right-wing. The judges of the Federal Administrative Court who recently scrapped the Compact ban, calling it unlawful, should question themselves. My party's criticisms against this illegitimate measure are instantly labeled as right-wing extremist, illustrating the suppression of parliamentary opposition at its finest."

"This press release from the AfD Fraction in the State Parliament of Baden-Württemberg criticizes the annual constitutional protection report, suggesting that the deliberate inflation of right-wing extremists in the report is questionable and politically motivated, as it potentially alters the pecking order with the left-wing. The AfD also raises concerns about the inconsistency in the numbers, the labeling of their criticisms as right-wing extremist, and the use of propaganda offenses, all points that interconnect war-and-conflicts, policy-and-legislation, and politics in this general news story."

"The AfD's leader, Bernd Gögel MdL, underscores the importance of transparency regarding the criteria used to calculate the numbers and the need for judges to scrutinize measures like the Compact ban in the context of war-and-conflicts, policy-and-legislation, and politics, as certain practices in these areas may suppress parliamentary opposition."
