Mayor Nopper to Address Citizen Concerns and Engage with Stuttgart Districts

In an effort to address the concerns of Stuttgart's citizens, Mayor Frank Nopper has embarked on a mission to visit and engage with the city's districts.

Over the course of 12 days from September 2 to 13, 2022, Mayor Nopper conducted walkabouts through 10 city districts: Botnang, Bad Cannstatt, Untertürkheim, Stuttgart-Süd, Zuffenhausen, Münster, Obertürkheim, Plieningen, Sillenbuch, and Vaihingen. This was just the first part of his plan, as he intends to visit the remaining half of Stuttgart's 23 city districts in the year 2026.

During these walkabouts, Mayor Nopper exchanged views with the respective district mayors and district councilors before engaging with the public. The summer tour served as a valuable tool for him to learn firsthand about the citizens' concerns.

All concerns raised by the citizens during these walkabouts will be reviewed and processed by the responsible departments within the city administration. The mayor aims to use the insights gained from this initiative for the upcoming budget consultations and make improvements in areas where the administration needs to improve based on feedback from the walkabouts.

Once the concerns have been reviewed and processed, all citizens will receive a response to their wishes, suggestions, or problems. To further ensure that each district's specific needs and concerns are adequately addressed, Mayor Nopper wants to take more time and engage more intensively with the individual districts in the coming year 2026.

Possible follow-up meetings with the mayor or deputy mayors may be held to address the concerns raised by the citizens. The city administration will respond to the concerns raised by citizens after reviewing and processing them.

Mayor Nopper is committed to making Stuttgart a better place for its citizens and is using this unique approach to gather valuable insights and take actionable steps towards improvement.
