Dude Fights €12K Bill After Scaling Euro 2020 Stadium Roof

Hey there! It's that time again where we dive into a rip-roaring tale of adventure, rebellion, and possibly some serious pocket-lightening. Satisfy your curiosity as we delve into the bizarre saga of the rooftop reveler from Osnabrück, who's refusing to fork over approximately €12,000 to the constabulary following his daring stunt scaling Dortmund's football stadium during Euro 2020's round of 16.

This intrepid fellow, confirmed by a court spokesperson to the German Press Agency, has decided to launch a legal challenge against the astronomical fee order in Gelsenkirchen's administrative court. Case number 17 K 3525/25 will be any lawyer's dream, that's for sure!

The legal papers, delivered to the courthouse earlier this week, mark the start of the feud. Dortmund police, in their wisdom, have slapped the daredevil with a whopping €12,076.93 bill for the chaos they claim to have contained during the operation.

108 police officers, including a special operations unit (SEK), were mobilized for this rooftop ruckus. According to the Dorpmund police spokesperson, a considerable chunk of the expenses, a cool €9,973.00, was for the cop's overtime pay. Furthermore, costs were incurred for the examination and seizure of the climber's backpack, handled by the North Rhine-Westphalia State Criminal Police Office, as well as the deployment of a Police helicopter. The climber already coughed up €1,050 for trespassing, but it seems that wasn't enough to satisfy the boys in blue.

The climber was discovered poking about in the stadium roof during the Euro 2020 tie between Germany and Denmark. As reported by "Der Spiegel," he'd already scaled the heights the night prior to snap some photos. He's apparently a member of the "roofers" scene, a daring group of adrenaline junkies who relish scaling extreme heights. The determined climber was nabbed again in October, at Ulm Cathedral, according to the same sources.

The legal eagle representing this aerial acrobat had previously disclosed in "Der Spiegel" that they would contest the fee order tooth and nail. So, fasten your seatbelts, folks, and strap yourself in for a wild rollercoaster ride of legal showdowns, as this climber refuses to accept the hefty bill without a fight!

In the midst of this intriguing story, one might imagine a courtroom where the discussions revolve around the Community policy on public safety and unauthorized entry, given the individual's unprecedented stadium-climbing act during the Euro 2020 tournament. Moreover, the defendant, known for his daring vocational training in extreme heights as a part of the 'roofers' scene, might find himself in the midst of debates about the implications of vocational training in non-traditional sports such as football, considering his stunt took place on a football stadium roof.
