European Football League (EFL) Analysis, Betting Tips, and Forecasts, March 25th
Let's Get Betting: A Rant from Paul Rick March 1, 2025
Ballin' on a budget? We've got the acca for you this weekend! Dump that naggin' Fergie time and get with the Farke time sensation sweeping the EFL.
Last week, Leeds climbed to the top of the Championship, stealing the spotlight from the beleaguered Sheffield Utd. So, what's next for the league this Saturday? Let's dive in, shall we?
Saturday's Showdowns
Middlesbrough's Misery vs Derby's Despair
Boro's in a world of hurt, just losing top goalscorer Emmanuel Latte Lath in January and failing to find the right replacements. Fans are calling for bouncer Michael Carrick to be canned, but Chairman Steve Gibson's stubbornly keeping faith for now. It's enough to make you want to jump off the Riverside, ain't it? Though they're languishing in 11th, Boro's still gunning for the playoffs. Can they right off this ship?
As for Derby County, they're wallowing a few notches below, facing an instant League One boot party if things don't turn around. New boss John Eustace's got a mess on his hands; the Rams need a miracle to avoid demotion.
Side with the struggling boss and go with Carrick's men to take this tête-à-tête at home.
Middlesbrough to win @ 8/13
Burton's Breed vs Mansfield's Malaise
Remember Gary Bowyer? The guy turned Burton Albion's season around after taking over. Big test tomorrow versus Mansfield, who're treading on some sketchy territory with their recent form. Victory would propel Burton right back in the hunt for escape.
Mansfield started the season like a fired-up late '90s Newcastle, but they've since spiraled down the ladder like a pack of Euro tramps. A loss here'll only escalate their worries.
Bet on the Bees swarming to a crucial victory.
Burton to win @ 6/4
Donny's Dash for Promotion vs Newport's Nonsense
Can't get enough of Grant McCann, the mastermind behind Doncaster's promotion hopes? Well, buddy, get ready for another battle. Newport's not going to let them romp to the top without a fight. McCann's playoff savvy, mixed with a hunger for success, should make them dominant in this bout.
Congrats, Nelson Jardim, for steering Newport away from the relegation zone this season. They'll spend this game sizing up potential keepers for next year.
Doncaster has a lot on the line, and they're not going to let this one slip.
Doncaster to win @ 17/40
