European competition stirs up excitement: Bakery expert Niklas Ring clinches a medal at EuroSkills in Kaifenheim

In the bustling city of Herning, Denmark, the EuroSkills 2025 came to a close, with 600 participants from 32 nations showcasing their skills in various trades. Among these talented individuals was Niklas Ring, a 22-year-old baker from Kaifenheim, Germany.

Niklas, who has been a master baker since his previous achievements, represented the German team in 28 disciplines, competing against 13 bakers from across Europe. His passion for fine baking, as he expressed, lies in the joy of shaping dough and creating different forms.

Over the course of 13 hours, Niklas demonstrated his skills in producing baguettes, pastries, and brioche. His performance was a testament to the skill, passion, and perseverance of young craftspeople from the Koblenz region, where he hails from.

The Central Association of the German Bakers' Guild was particularly proud of Niklas's outstanding results. Ralf Hellrich, CEO of the Koblenz Chamber of Crafts, considered Niklas's performance a great success.

Niklas's hard work and dedication paid off, as he won an Excellence Medal at EuroSkills 2025. However, he narrowly missed the bronze medal by four points.

Germany finished in second place overall at EuroSkills 2025, with a total of 22 medals. The team won 7 gold, 6 silver, 3 bronze, and 6 excellence medals.

In the lead-up to the competition, Niklas trained intensively with his coach Felix Rommel and the national baking team at the German Bakers' Academy in Weinheim. His training paid off, as he also achieved fifth place at the WorldSkills Bakery Competition in São Paulo earlier this year.

Before his success at EuroSkills 2025, Niklas had already made a name for himself in Germany. He won second place nationwide at the German Crafts Championship after winning on the regional and state levels. In early 2024, he passed his journeyman's examination with 'very good.'

Despite the impressive achievements, the name of the trainer with whom Niklas trained intensively before the EuroSkills remains undisclosed in the available search results. Nevertheless, Niklas's passion for baking and his dedication to his craft continue to inspire young bakers across Germany and Europe.
