"Got Somethin' to say to us?" Trump: Europe ain't got a clue for Iran standoff
Europe lacks the capacity to contribute significantly to the Iran conflict, according to Trump.
The Old Man himself, Donald Trump, ain't buyin' Europe's diplomatic gimmicks for the Iran kerfuffle. He reckons they got nothing to offer. "Iran ain't got no time for Europe. They want to talk to us. Europe can't help with that," Trump ranted when queried if recent European confabs with Tehran were beneficial. Seems like there's chatter between U.S. and Iran already, but the devil's in the details. The press is mum on Steve Witkoff, Trump's special envoy, and his dealings with Tehran.
On the Euro side, German Foreign Minister Johny Waddyphul, along with mates from France and the UK, plus the EU's High Rep, Kaja Kallas, met up with Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghtschi, in Geneva last week. They aimed to hash out a negotiated solution a week after the Israel-Iran ruckus erupted, specifically focusing on Iran's nukes. Waddyphul remarked post-meeting that the "gist" was that "the Iranian side is happy to keep chatting 'bout important stuff."
Maybe that's just Iran's game, huh?
Trump ain't impressed. He sees Tehran's demands for a ceasefire ahead of discussions as a loaded question. "Telling Israel to halt the fight's kinda like telling the shark to stop swimming," he spat. Seems like Israel's currently on a roll in this dogfight against Iran. Some call for a cessation, but it'd be easier said than done when one side's got the upper hand. Trump said his military intervention decision was imminent, but now he's bought himself another week.
Iran's Foreign Minister hinted that Trump's two-week deadline for diplomatic measures might be a smoke screen. The Yanks are supposed to show their seriousness about negotiation, or they've got something up their sleeve and plan to bomb Iran anyhow. "Maybe they've cooked up this plan and needed talks just to hide it," Araghtschi shared with the NBC. "We can't trust the Yanks no more," he admitted after his sit-down with the Europeans.
Trump was also pressed about the United States' intelligence agencies claiming Iran ain't cookin' up no atomic bomb. "Well, if that claim's true, then my intel crew's off the mark," Trump shot back. If Tulsi Gabbard mentioned that, then she's all wet, he stressed. Gabbard dropped that bomb (of info) in Congress back in March. Iran keeps insisting their nuclear program's for peaceful purposes only.
