Europe lacks the ability to contribute significantly to the Iran conflict, according to Trump's statement.

In the heated Israel-Iran conflict, U.S. President Donald Trump sees minimal value in European states'diplomatic efforts. He may opt for military intervention sooner than the claimed two-week window. Trump stated, "Iran ain't talking to Europe, they want to chat with us. Europe can't help with that."

There are ongoing contacts between the U.S. and Iran, and Trump remains tight-lipped regarding their progress. Recent reports suggest that Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff has been in touch with Tehran.

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, joined by his French and UK colleagues and EU High Representative Kaja Kallas, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghtschi in Geneva on Friday. Their goal was to reexport the nuclear issue, focusing on Iran's controversial nuclear program. Wadephul commented, "We left the room with the impression that the Iranian side is open to continuing discussions about all crucial matters."

However, Trump remains skeptical of this diplomatic push. When Tehran proposed a ceasefire before negotiations, Trump argued, "It's tough to ask that of Israel when they're winning the war." The emerging war is currently taking a toll on Iran, hence a ceasefire request could be more plausible if the circumstances shifted. Trump had previously announced a two-week timeline for considering U.S. military intervention in the war, but recently conceded that this was the "maximum" duration.

Iranian Foreign Minister Araghtschi alleged that the two-week deadline might be a pretense, "The U.S. needs to demonstrate their commitment to a negotiated solution; otherwise, they've got something else in mind and they want to attack Iran anyway." Araghtschi suspected that negotiations were merely a cover for potential U.S. aggression.

Trump was asked about the U.S. intelligence agencies' assessment that Iran is not currently developing nuclear weapons. "If my intelligence peeps are wrong, then they're wrong," Trump rebutted. He strongly disagreed with U.S. intelligence coordinator Tulsi Gabbard's claim in Congress that Iran lacks nuclear ambitions.
