Eurolawmakers Air Concerns Over Sluggish Advancement in Stamping Out Racism and Xenophobia.

On Sunday, 19th October, Kulturbar froelich & herrlich im Westflügel Leipzig will play host to the event "LOCAL DECOLONIAL: Tatar KYZ:LAR". This event, part of the LOCAL DECOLONIAL series in Leipzig and Berlin, brings together local cultural organizations, community groups focused on decolonial discourse, and institutions promoting Tatar heritage and women's rights.

The event delves into themes such as pluralism in exile, alliances needed, and the space a city like Leipzig can offer. The evening promises a diverse and thought-provoking programme.

Artist Natalia Zaitseva, a long-time member of Moscow's feminist theater scene, presents a performance about memory, loss, and the life of foreign things. Her performance is sure to be a poignant and evocative addition to the event.

TATAR KYZ:LAR, an electro-poetic duo from Berlin, will debut with the album "AŞ". This musical memory archive traces the migration biographies of the artists through translingual songs in Tatar, English, German, Belarusian, and Russian. Their debut is a testament to the rich cultural diversity that the event aims to celebrate.

Dinara Rasuleva, a poet from Tatarstan, will read from her project "Lostlingual". This experimental exploration of the creeping loss of one's native language promises to be a thought-provoking contribution to the event. The eponymous book of "Lostlingual" was published in 2025 by Rab-Rab Press.

The event will be conducted in English, German, Tatar, and Russian, with whisper translation into German to ensure inclusivity for all attendees. Registration is required for the event, and the calendar entry can be used for registration.

It's important to note that the Russian exile community in Germany is heterogeneous, multi-ethnic, multilingual, and not always politically united. The event provides a platform for these diverse voices to converge, artistically, politically, and uncompromisingly.

The LOCAL DECOLONIAL series also includes events such as "LOCAL DECOLONIAL: Framings, Namings, Solidarities - Bubbles between PostOst, Diaspora, and Exile" and "LOCAL DECOLONIAL: Belarus! Межы Памежжа - The Border of the Borderlands".

The event is a cooperation between Referat Internationale Zusammenarbeit der Stadt Leipzig and Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung. Accessibility is a priority, and the venue is wheelchair accessible.

Join us on Sunday, 19th October, from 19:30-22:30, for an evening of culture, conversation, and exploration at Kulturbar froelich & herrlich im Westflügel Leipzig. Let's celebrate diversity, unity, and the power of art to bring people together.
