Eurobank has launched a groundbreaking AI initiative in collaboration with Fairfax Digital Services, backed by EY and Microsoft 365. This strategic move aims to position Eurobank at the forefront of agentic AI adoption in the banking sector.
The project will utilise Microsoft Azure and the EY.ai Agentic Platform, powered by NVIDIA-accelerated computing. It aims to develop a scalable, automated system that integrates agentic AI into Eurobank's core banking operations. Agentic AI refers to systems that operate autonomously, learning and adapting to deliver intelligent outcomes.
Yanna Andronopoulou of Microsoft Greece praised Greece's emerging status as a hub for AI and digital innovation. Stavros Ioannou, Eurobank's Deputy CEO, hailed the project as a pivotal moment in the bank's AI journey. Omar Ali of EY highlighted agentic AI as a critical lever for competitive advantage in financial services. Sanjay Tugnait of Fairfax Digital Services aptly described AI as redefining ROI as 'Return on Intelligence'.
