CMAT's Upcoming Album "Euro-Country" and Promising Future

Irish musician CMAT, born Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, is gearing up for the release of her third album, "Euro-Country," scheduled for August 29, 2025. The artist, who rose to prominence without formal music education or early industry connections, has built a successful career through internet contacts and was signed by AWAL (a Sony-owned company) in 2021.

CMAT's music is a unique blend of pop sensibilities and introspective songwriting, balancing contemporary themes with Irish cultural elements. Her previous albums, "If My Wife New I’d Be Dead" (2022) and "Crazymad, For Me" (2023), both topped the Irish charts and received prestigious nominations, including the Ivor Novello and Mercury Prize. "Crazymad, For Me" reached No.25 in the UK charts and has current sales of 22,093.

The upcoming album, "Euro-Country," promises to delve deeper into themes of cultural identity, capitalism, and personal reflection, with a strong connection to Irish heritage while engaging with broader societal issues. AWAL aims for this release to deliver CMAT’s best-ever debut week and plans for the album to have a long commercial and critical lifespan, including strategic timing around awards submission deadlines such as the Grammy and Mercury prizes.

AWAL SVP Sam Potts is targeting CMAT's "best ever week-one results" with "Euro-Country," and the label and management emphasize their trust-based partnership with CMAT, which has allowed for uncompromising artistic independence and the creation of work that blends critical acclaim with commercial success. CMAT's agent, Natasha Gregory, believes that CMAT belongs on big stages, and AWAL COO Paul Hitchman believes that CMAT's music deserves to win every award this year.

In addition to the upcoming album, CMAT has a busy schedule ahead. She has live dates planned for Europe and the US in the autumn, a sold-out night at Dublin's 3Arena in December, and a high-profile summer slate that includes a set at Primavera Sound, a landmark appearance on Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage, and a support slot on Sam Fender's stadium tour.

CMAT's Sinceremat newsletter, a compendium of brilliant words and thoughts from the artist, goes out to more than 16,000 fans. She is also popular on social media platforms like TikTok, where she has more than 3.9 million likes and 150,000 followers, and Spotify, where she has 2.6m monthly listeners.

AWAL executive Victoria Needs praises CMAT for clearing a space for a different type of female artist and having no ceiling. CMAT's music addresses various issues, from Irish economics to Elon Musk and Jamie Oliver, showcasing her ability to connect with people.

Anticipation and industry confidence suggest that "Euro-Country" will be a significant milestone in CMAT’s career, further solidifying her status as an influential and innovative artist bridging Irish culture and contemporary music scenes.

Celebrities worldwide anticipate CMAT's evolution in the music industry, as her upcoming album, "Euro-Country," engages with both Irish heritage and broader societal issues. This unique blend of pop sensibilities and introspective songwriting could potentially earn CMAT numerous awards during the awards season.

As CMAT's popularity flourishes through internet contacts, an engaged fanbase, and successful live performances, her presence in the entertainment industry is solidified, elevating her to large stages like Primavera Sound, Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage, and even supporting acts on Sam Fender's stadium tour.
