Euphoria’s bold Season 3 leaps into adulthood with weddings, debt, and drama
The third season of Euphoria is set to return in April, five years after the events of Season 2. Creator Sam Levinson has called it the show’s best season yet, with major changes for the characters—and some familiar faces missing.
New cast members include Grammy-winning singer Rosalía and influencer-turned-actress Trisha Paytas, joining a story that now follows the characters into adulthood. From weddings to debt schemes, the upcoming episodes promise dramatic twists and fresh challenges for the cast.
The new season jumps forward in time, placing the characters in their mid-20s. Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) are now engaged and living in the suburbs, where Cassie’s obsession with news feeds has spiralled. Their wedding is teased as an ‘unforgettable’ moment for viewers.
Meanwhile, Rue (Zendaya) finds herself in Mexico, deep in debt to Laurie (Martha Kelly). Desperate to settle her dues, she devises unconventional ways to pay her off. Jules (Hunter Schafer), on the other hand, is pursuing her passion as an artist in art school.
Maddy (Alexa Demie) has moved to Hollywood, working at a talent agency. Lexi (Maude Apatow) joins her as an assistant to a powerful showrunner, played by Sharon Stone. The season also introduces Rosalía and Trisha Paytas in undisclosed roles, adding to the star-studded cast.
However, several actors will not return, including Austin Abrams, Barbie Ferreira, Algee Smith, and Storm Reed. The absence of Angus Cloud, who played Fezco and died in 2023 at 25, will also be felt. Zendaya, who made history as the youngest and first Black woman to win two Emmys for her role, remains a central figure in the series.
With a time jump, new cast members, and bold storylines, Euphoria’s third season marks a significant shift for the show. The April release will reveal how the characters navigate adulthood, from Cassie’s troubled marriage to Rue’s desperate attempts to escape debt. The series continues to push boundaries, now with even higher stakes for its returning stars.
