€37 Million Funding Boost to Modernize Emergency and Public Services by 2027

A new funding programme will roll out 20 key measures for the interior sector by 2027. The first phase alone involves €37 million, covering planning and essential upgrades. Authorities have outlined how the money will be spent across police, fire services and public administration.

The total programme includes 112 measures worth €354 million, but the first tranche focuses on immediate needs. Around €16.9 million will go to the police for new emergency vehicles, IT systems and tools to manage personnel. Another €7.5 million is set aside for fire services, funding better equipment and disaster response upgrades.

Public services will also see improvements, with €1.5 million allocated for modernisation. This includes secure document lockers and an AI assistant to help streamline processes at the Immigration Office. The first 20 measures are scheduled for implementation between 2026 and 2027.

The initial €37 million investment targets critical areas like emergency response and digital tools. Police and fire services will receive updated vehicles and technology, while public offices gain new systems to handle daily operations. Further details on the full 112 measures remain under review.
