EU Commission's New Governing Body
New Leadership for Europa-Union District Aichach-Friedberg
The recent board election of Europa-Union District Aichach-Friedberg has resulted in a new lineup, with Peter Halke being re-elected as the chairman and Joachim Pehlke taking on the roles of deputy chairman and treasurer.
Peter Halke, who has been at the helm of the association for some time now, expressed his gratitude for the engagement of the board members and the support from the membership. He has set a goal to establish the district on a solid foundation for the next two years, focusing on consolidating the association's work, increasing membership, and strengthening liberal-democratic ideas in Europe.
Halke believes that membership in Europa-Union is a first step towards actively shaping the EU. He aims to inspire new members and promote Europe primarily as a project of peace, despite some criticisms of the EU. He believes that the work of Europa-Union can help identify and address the shortcomings of the European Union while emphasizing its overall benefits.
Joining the new board is Matthias Feiger, who will serve as a member. Joachim Pehlke, the newly elected treasurer, also shares Halke's vision for the association. He believes that the work of Europa-Union can contribute to a more united and democratic Europe.
Halke, Pehlke, and the rest of the board are committed to fostering European unity and democratic values locally, with a focus on grassroots growth. They aim to build a strong and active community within the district, working towards a more peaceful and united Europe.
