EU Commissioner Marta Kos commences a three-day journey to Azerbaijan and Armenia
The European Union's Enlargement Commissioner, Marta Kos, is currently on a three-day visit to the South Caucasus, specifically Armenia and Azerbaijan. This visit, from Wednesday, 16th September 2025, is aimed at strengthening EU cooperation and connectivity in the region.
In Armenia, Commissioner Kos will meet with President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan. In Azerbaijan, Commissioner Kos will hold high-level meetings with President Ilham Aliyev, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, and Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov on Thursday.
The EU provides equipment, training, and support to mine victims, and it helps build the capacity of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action. This visit by Commissioner Kos is a testament to the EU's commitment to peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region.
