"The justification wouldn't be the asylum application numbers, which have already been declining for some time," states Thym, "Rather, it would be the challenges we face in the medium and long-term integration – in the labor market, education system, housing market. And these are significant issues that need to be addressed."
Regarding the broader principles of asylum policies, Thym supports the need for rules and their enforcement. He emphasizes the importance of migration control and the legitimacy of having regulations to ensure a balanced and harmonious society.
