Shaky Knees Music Festival Shakes Things Up in Piedmont Park

The Shaky Knees Music Festival is set to return this September, moving from its traditional home in Central Park to Piedmont Park. From the 19th to the 21st, music lovers can enjoy a weekend filled with incredible performances.

New Location and Dates

The festival will take place between 10th Street and the southern shore of the lake, and between Piedmont Avenue NE and the Beltline. This year's event will occur outside its usual May schedule, happening from the 19th to the 21st of September, 2025.

Gates and Headliners

Gates will open at 4 p.m. on Friday and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Deftones are headlining on Friday, My Chemical Romance on Saturday, and Blink-182 on Sunday. The headliners are scheduled to end at 10 p.m.

Tickets and Travel

Saturday-only tickets and three-day tickets are sold out, but tickets for Friday and Sunday are still available. Attendees are encouraged to use public transit, as no parking will be associated with the festival. The Midtown MARTA station is conveniently located, with the 12th Street NE and Piedmont Avenue NE entrance being about half-a-mile away, and the 10th Street NE and Charles Allen Drive NE entrance being 0.8 miles. An entrance adjacent to the Atlanta Beltline at Park Drive NE will also be available.

Weather and Security

According to Our First Alert Forecast, festival-goers can expect very low chances of rain on Friday and Saturday. Friday will be mostly sunny, and Saturday will be partly cloudy. Sunday is expected to be clear. Security will be tight, with attendees able to leave and re-enter any time before 7 p.m., but they will need to go through security each time.

Entertainment and Amenities

The festival will feature a variety of acts, including "Weird Al" Yankovic, Alabama Shakes, Vampire Weekend, Cage the Elephant, Lenny Kravitz, the Black Keys, Sublime, and Pixies. A series of late night shows will also take place, featuring artists like Pixies and TV On the Radio.

On-site amenities include lockers, and attendees are allowed to bring in clear plastic bags 12′′ x 6′′ x 12 or smaller, strollers, frisbees, blankets, cameras without detachable lenses, reusable water bottles, sunscreen in non-aerosol form, personal hand sanitizer, battery packs, misting fans, hydration packs, prescription medicine in the pharmacy-labeled container with the prescription, dosage, and patient name.

A map of food vendors can be found on the festival's website. However, items like monopods, selfie sticks, tripods or GoPro mounts, coolers, professional audio or video equipment, drones, hammocks, glass, outside food, umbrellas, pets other than service animals, bicycles, carts, and chairs are not allowed.
