Shannon Sharpe Continues Podcasting Career After Settling Lawsuit and ESPN Dismissal

Shannon Sharpe, the renowned sports analyst, has managed to maintain his podcasting career despite facing a significant setback in his media career. The lawsuit against him, filed in Nevada state court on April 20, 2023, has not affected his podcasting career with The Volume.

The plaintiff in the lawsuit, represented by Tony Buzbee, was seeking damages of $50 million from Sharpe. However, the lawsuit was settled for an undisclosed amount on July 18, 2023. This settlement came after Sharpe was fired by ESPN following the lawsuit's resolution.

Sharpe's media career began with CBS' The NFL Today as an analyst. He later moved to ESPN's First Take and FS1, where he worked alongside Skip Bayless. However, his tenure at FS1 ended in an acrimonious split in June 2023.

Despite being kept off the air for the past three months before his dismissal from ESPN, Sharpe signed a deal with The Volume, a sports podcasting company, during his brief TV hiatus. He hosts the popular podcast Club Shay Shay through his Shay Shay Media imprint with The Volume. He also co-hosts Nightcap with Chad Johnson.

Prior to the lawsuit against him, Sharpe was reportedly in line for a lucrative podcast deal, said to be worth as much as $100 million. The deal with The Volume was made with Sharpe's former FS1 co-worker Colin Cowherd.

Sharpe's podcasting career with The Volume has continued despite his dismissal from ESPN's First Take. It appears that his podcast deal has not been affected or terminated as a result of his departure from ESPN; he remains active on his platform independently.
