According to the Liverpool Echo, Wirtz's medical exam is imminent. Liverpool's preseason kicks off on July 7, with a friendly match against Preston North End scheduled for the following week. It's been speculated that Wirtz will make his unofficial debut for Liverpool during this game if his transfer is finalized beforehand[2].
On the day before the Bayern Munich's sports director Max Eberl openly discussed the quantum leak in Wirtz's transfer negotiations just before the Bayern's club World Cup. " frankly, I'm not sure we could have footed the bill that Liverpool seems to be paying now," said Eberl in the team's amidst-Orlando quarters.
In the end, Wirtz opted for Liverpool, leaving Munich behind. "The whole club made it clear that the player is outstanding. And honestly, we could have easily envisioned him joining FC Bayern," said Eberl. "Regardless, he's made another decision, even though the dialogue was fruitful."
