Erika Kirk first gained public attention in 2012 when she won the Miss Arizona USA title and later competed in Miss USA. After graduating from Arizona State University with degrees in political science and international relations, she pursued a varied career. By 17, she had founded the non-profit Everyday Heroes. Later, she launched a faith-based fashion brand called Proclaim and hosted the podcast Midweek Rise Up.
In 2014, she and her then-boyfriend auditioned for the reality show The Amazing Race. Five years later, she made a guest appearance on Bravo's Summer House. During this time, she also worked as a real estate agent in New York with The Corcoran Group.
Her shift toward conservative activism began before 2020, though she never publicly announced leaving the pageant world. She met Charlie Kirk in 2018, married him in 2021, and the couple had two children—a daughter in 2022 and a son in 2024. Following Charlie Kirk's death in 2025, she assumed leadership of Turning Point USA, calling the role both a 'blessing' and a 'duty' to her late husband.
Recent criticism came from Candace Owens, who suggested Kirk's pageant participation was driven by personal ambitions, such as social advancement or finding a husband. Owens also disputed Kirk's account of how she entered pageants, implying her mother, Lori Frantzve, played a key role. Kirk has not responded to these allegations publicly.
