Erika Kirk appointed as the CEO of Turning Point USA
Turning Point USA Announces New CEO Following Tragic Loss
Erika Kirk has been unanimously named as the new CEO and chair of the board of Turning Point USA, following the tragic assassination of her husband, Charlie Kirk, last week in Utah. The memorial service for Charlie Kirk is scheduled for this Sunday in Arizona, where Erika is expected to speak alongside figures such as President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
Charlie Kirk, the co-founder of Turning Point USA, was killed at an event at Utah Valley University. The bullet that struck him fatally hit him in the neck.
Turning Point USA, an organisation that proselytises on college campuses for low taxes and limited government, was initially headquartered in suburban Chicago. However, it has since moved its headquarters to Phoenix. The organisation has chapters in all of Arizona's major universities, boasting over 250,000 student members across more than a dozen schools in the state.
Turning Point USA was founded in 2012 by Charlie Kirk and William Montgomery. Charlie Kirk served as a personal aide to Donald Trump Jr., the president's eldest son, during the 2016 general election campaign. The organisation enthusiastically supported Donald Trump after he clinched the GOP nomination in 2016.
Erika Kirk is replacing her husband as CEO of Turning Point USA. The memorial service for Charlie Kirk is scheduled to take place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday.
The assassination of Charlie Kirk occurred on Sept. 10. The investigation into his death is ongoing, and no arrests have been made as of yet. Our thoughts are with Erika Kirk and the entire Turning Point USA community during this difficult time.
