Erfurt’s Christmas Market has wrapped up another successful year with record attendance. Over 1.4 million visitors passed through the festive stalls, marking a 5% rise from 2024. Organisers praised the event as peaceful and secure, with no reported incidents during its run.

The market, held from November 25 to December 22, featured 50 stalls and a packed programme of activities. The busiest day was December 13, when nearly 92,000 people attended. Enhanced security measures were in place, including the debut of a new app called SafeNow, which helped monitor crowd safety.

City officials managed the event, ensuring smooth operations across Domplatz. The market concluded with a festive finale of carol singing before crews began dismantling the site.

This year’s market saw higher visitor numbers and improved security. The SafeNow app played a key role in maintaining order, while the event’s popularity continued to grow. Organisers will now focus on planning for the 2025 edition.
